Five new rhododendron varieties have been created in our nursery

Deciduous rhododendron variety Sēlija complements the series of varieties dedicated to Latvia's cultural and historical regions. It is a variety with red, stuffed and slightly fragrant flowers arranged in dense balls. Blooms in late May - first half of June. The grown shrub can reach a height of 2.5 m and a width of 2 m. The variety has good winter hardiness, so it is recommended for cultivation throughout Latvia. Breeder Rihards Kondratovičs.

The elepidote rhododendron variety Dagnija has been named in honor of Dagnija Rūse, who, together with her husband Roberts Rūsis, has been awarding scholarships to University of Latvia nursing students for the fifth year in a row. The variety is characterized by purple flowers in dense inflorescences with curled petal edges and dark spots inside. Blooms in late May - early June. In thirteen years, the bush reaches a height of 1.3 m and a width of 1.3 m. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the central and western part of Latvia. Breeder Gunita Riekstiņa.

The variety Dimash Qudaibergen is named after the popular Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen at the request of the Dimash Latvia Dears fan club. It is a variety of elepidote rhododendrons with dark purple flowers, the inside of which is decorated with yellow-green spots on a white background. Blooms in late May - first half of June. In thirteen years the bush grows 1.3 m high and 1.5 m wide. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the central and western part of Latvia. Breeder Gunita Riekstiņa.

The variety Miuaniz takes its name from Misa Nizamutdinova, the grandmother of Dimash Kudaibergen, who raised the popular singer. It is a richly blooming variety of deciduous rhododendrons with bright pink, stuffed flowers. Blooms in late May - first half of June. The grown shrub reaches a height of 2.4 m and a width of 2 m. The deciduous rhododendron variety Qazaqstan is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is characterized by lemon-yellow flowers with curved petal edges and a pleasant aroma. Blooms in late May - early June. The grown shrub is 1.4 m high and 1.6 m wide.
